What is ALIENTOns?

ALIENTOns is a hand held, non-invasive machine to train and strengthen ALL 12 sets of muscles for breathing. SCI users may improve ability to cough for airway clearing and gain deeper, stronger breathing. NextSteps Foundation and PowerLung designed ALIENTOns for simple, adaptive handling and use to improve quality of life and health.

What is Pat Rummerfield's Role with ALIENTOns?

Pat Rummerfield offers a very unique view of paralysis. In the early '70's Pat was injured in an auto accident that left him a quadriplegic. Patrick has rehabbed his way back from this condition. As a fully recovered quadriplegic, he now devotes his driving force and determination to "Racing To Cure Paralysis". As you can see from his web page, he's a racer all the way from the Bonneville Salt Flats to Antarctica. Pat challenges himself all the time.

After his own personal experience with PowerLung, Pat asked the manufacturers of PowerLung to help him create something just or those with spinal cord injuries (SCI).

PowerLung itself was based on quality of life at all levels from Olympic athletes to someone who is interested in maintaining health and well-being.

ALIENTOns is the result of this team. It is designed for breathing effort levels suitable for those with the least ability. And most important is adapted for limited hand use. To order ALIENTOns, click on "order now".
